+ Positives

• Physical design of the S2340M is very slim, attractive, and stylish.
• Great value for a quality 23" AH-IPS monitor from a reputable brand at only $150.
• Glossy screen surface of the S2340M produces good black levels when properly calibrated and doesn't suffer from the "sparkly" effect plagued by many monitors with a matte anti-glare coating.
• Uses an AH-IPS panel, so the viewing angles are fantastic. The monitor retains good image quality even at extreme angles.
• Image quality is very clear and vivid with sharp, easily readable text.
• Thin bezel that sits flush with the panel (edge to edge glass) for a minimalistic look.
• Energy efficient LED backlight.
• Adequate response time and no major input lag results in a decent gaming monitor. It's not the fastest IPS monitor around, but good enough for light to moderate gaming.
• Build quality is very good with a tight fit and finish we have come to expect from Dell.

- Negatives

• Extremely reflective glossy screen.
• Not compatible with VESA mounts, though there are 3rd party VESA adapters available for this model.
• Very basic stand for a Dell monitor. Has no swivel, height adjust, or pivot.
• Limited input connections on the S2340M. Just one analog (VGA) and one digital (DVI) input. No HDMI.
