Superior viewing angles, especially in dark scenes which normally cause problems with IPS based displays.
Much less IPS glow than you would normally expect to find on any IPS monitor (similar to NEC displays equipped with a A-TW polarizer).
Excellent build quality that has become standard from EIZO products.
Light matte coating does a great job of glare reduction while maintaining image clarity. No grainy or "dirty" appearance common on more aggressive AR coatings.
Factory settings are very accurate before even using the internal hardware calibration.
Colors are stable and homogeneous over the entire display.
ColorNavigator software is easy to use and produces great results with little effort.
The CG246 does use PWM for backlight dimming, but it operates at a high enough frequency (18,000 Hz) that there will be no problems with flicker.
Internal calibration hardware keeps the display properly calibrated for much longer than standard external calibration.

Price. Unless you can afford to lay down more than $2k for a monitor, most users will never experience a display of this caliber.
Internal cooling fan produces low noise levels that may be bothersome to some users in quiet environments.
Average input lag of 16.7ms is not suitable for hardcore gaming, though gamers are not the target market of this display.
