• Review: Hard drives fail. Thats what they do. The only way to solve this problem at least temporarily is to set up a redundantcy with two or more hard drives.

• Review: At first I thought this drive was noisy. It turned out that an oversized SATA cable was touching the removeable cover of the CPU case and transmitting vibrations. I opened the CPU cover and now everything is good. Need a new, flatter cable before I put the cover back on. The drive is quiet. My other two WD Caviar drives are quiet, too--one external (silent) and an internal green (almost silent). I'm very happy with WD drives.

• Review: I installed this hard drive in a PC I built and it works very well. It has the lager 64MB cash, 7200 RPM, and is as rugged as the come. This drive uses a ramp to park the heads off of the platters. I regard WD black drives to be the best for your PC or Mac

• Review: Always glad to get what I pay for... this came packed securely, and as a OEM, it had no unnecessary packaging, etc. The free Acronis software that comes with the drive (a free download off of WD's website) is a major bonus when you are going to simply replace a smaller boot disk with a larger one as I did. I makes everything soooooooooo easy, no countless hours cloning the original drive... only positives for this purchase, I highly recommend!
